Closet Shame

Because I cannot buy everything my little self desires, when I find a particularly inspiring outfit in a periodical I rip it out and glue it in a notebook, as if I can then own a very small part of it. Or maybe it is just a very thick Christmas list. While this sounds a lot like scrapbooking, I don't do this while wearing a light up sweatshirt with a cat on it, so it is not. And, hey, it is not just me. Fashion editors, stylists and designers all do this but they call it an Inspiration Board, Look Book or Wall-O-Ideas-to-Steal.

Feeling Horsey Today

OMG! The Fair Queen! Very pretty and soooooo nice . Must frown on the shoe choice, however.
Usually I am not fond of pants that try to eat my feet. But these make me look so skinny and who doesn't want that? True Religion white denim, giant Polo guy appliqued shirt. You can't see it, but it has my favorite number on the sleeve, jockey style

Skater Pet

The last time I wore this hat I had to admit I was only a Poseur when asked if I used to be a Betty. While slightly insulted about the "used to be" part, I had to give them props for recognizing old school 1989 Stussy

Daruma

Though well documented, it is weird how subliminal, random placement can actually work on your brain. When I was watching "The Real Housewives of Orange County" nightly I would find myself drinking lots of pink or red vodka things. At home. By myself. Usually that is a warning sign of impending alcoholism but lucky for me the season ended with Laurie marrying that sap George and me switching over to "Entourage" which didn't make me drink more but did make me kind of a jerk for a few weeks. I do so love sushi and I imagine if I used this USB thingy from Urban Outfitters daily , I would be hungry, broke and mercury laden in no time

Hey, it's new to me

When I first heard about Out of the Closet consignment shop on Westfield Blvd and 86th, I was picturing a lot of tranny wear and thought it might not be for me. Happily, it has turned out not to be the case and it has become my faves. They have a super charming staff and a great twice a year clearance sale. Missed the first day of the sale yesterday but still managed to drop a big wad today. I also spent a big wad o'time because I was skulking about waitng for this girl to put down some Dior pink trainers I had JUST MISSED on the rack. No luck, I think she could smell my desperation and bought them just for spite. Here is the best thing I found: Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent top NWT. I love the ruched waist and studded banded cuffs. Alas, a size large, so I will not be keeping it. I was also alerted to and experienced Frankey's 75% off sale but was disappointed, as usual. Surprisingly, they had some Geren Ford dresses, which kinda made up for it.

Extremely Helpful Salesperson

Thank God, I now know how to pronounce my new favorite designer's name: Yigal (Yee gahl) Azrouel. Wearing part of my haul from the FP fab sale today. Just LOOOOOVE it. Super soft drapey fabric, hint of fun in the plaid and pockets(!!) There is lots more plaid on the cut out back and the zipper has these cute puckers which pull the waist in a bit. You would think all this detail would make it unbearably busy but it only manages to streamline the whole thing. Genius.
